El ACP ha terminado por ahora

El ACP era un programa de $14.2 mil millones que se lanzó en diciembre de 2021, pero después de dos años y medio de ofrecer descuentos en el servicio de internet y dispositivos conectados a los consumidores de bajos ingresos, la financiación que el Congreso inicialmente puso a disposición del ACP ya se ha agotado. Como resultado, a partir del 1.º de junio de 2024, el ACP ha terminado por ahora y los 23 millones de hogares inscritos en el programa ya no recibirán el descuento del ACP como en meses anteriores.

During his most recent visit to the Federal Capital, the governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro R. Pierluisi, together with the Undersecretary of the Department of Commerce, Don Graves, formally received an allocation of $158,000,000 from the Department of the Treasury, from the American Rescue Plan, for the implementation of broadband and telecommunications connectivity projects on the Island. The coordinator for the implementation of the American Rescue Plan in the White House and a senior advisor to President Biden, Gene Sperling, also participated in the announcement.
